In total there are 3,304 emojis in the Unicode Standard as of March 2020. This includes sequences for gender or skin tone, flags, and the components that are used to create keycap, flag, and other sequences. The latest emoji release is Emoji 13.0. (Source: Unicode)

š„ŗā« Pleading Face is experiencing surging popularity
šš The top ten emojis used on Twitter are relatively stable
šš Face with Tears of Joy remains the most used emoji on Twitter
šš Emoji use as a whole continues to rise, with nearly one in five tweets now containing at least one emoji
š¤š¦ The increase in emoji use has been potentially slowed by our new normal, but its too soon to say this with certainty
